A Peplink Case Study
Build Health International (BHI), a non-profit that builds healthcare infrastructure in low-resource settings, faced a critical challenge providing reliable internet connectivity to hospitals in remote parts of Haiti. Unstable connections hindered the delivery of quality patient care, remote equipment management, and staff collaboration, a problem that became even more urgent during the COVID-19 pandemic. To address this, BHI turned to vendor Peplink for a sustainable networking solution.
Peplink implemented its MAX Transit Duo mobile router with dual SIM cards for redundancy and utilized its SpeedFusion bandwidth bonding technology. This solution combined multiple cellular connections with a fiber line to create a robust and reliable internet link. The results were transformative: the hospital gained more bandwidth than BHI’s headquarters office, enabling seamless use of collaboration tools like Zoom, remote technical support via VPN, and enhanced telemedicine capabilities. The reliable connectivity from Peplink empowered healthcare workers at Wesleyan and Saint Rock Hospitals to focus on their primary mission of saving lives.
