A Peplink Case Study
Allsup’s is a family-owned U.S. convenience store chain with over 300 locations that relied on satellite links with POTS telephone lines as a backup for credit card processing. When carriers began phasing out POTS, Allsup’s needed a new, reliable secondary broadband option that would work across varied site conditions and multiple wired technologies; Peplink (via partner AstrumSat) was chosen to provide a single, manageable solution using Peplink routers and the InControl2 management platform.
Peplink routers were deployed to add cellular failover and multi‑WAN management alongside existing satellite links, prioritizing satellite for routine traffic and switching to cellular only when needed, with policies and monitoring managed centrally via InControl2. The Peplink solution aggregated three cellular providers (AT&T, T‑Mobile, Verizon) into a blended failover connection, delivering 100% connection uptime, centralized usage monitoring, and minimal cellular fees by maximizing primary satellite use.
