a oil and gas company in Western Canada expands SCADA to 10 sites with Peplink

An oil and gas company in Western Canada faced unreliable SCADA system connectivity due to its remote pipeline operations in harsh terrain, where traditional broadband was impossible and outdated satellite links hindered performance. The company needed a rugged, low-maintenance solution for its mission-critical data acquisition. Peplink, through partner Hyperlink, provided a solution utilizing Starlink and the BR1 Mini router.

The Peplink solution implemented a hybrid design with Starlink for primary connectivity and cellular for backup, using SpeedFusion's Hot Failover to seamlessly switch between connections. This provided the secure, high-speed bandwidth required for real-time monitoring, cameras, and IoT sensors, greatly improving safety and operational visibility. The results were so successful that the company plans to expand the Peplink solution from the initial deployments to a long-term goal of 200 locations.
