40 Hotels. 5000 Rooms. Unbreakable VoIP

Ascent Hospitality Management, a Georgia-based operator of 40 hotels (about 5,000 rooms), needed a cost-effective, resilient way to deliver high-quality voice and fast Internet across its properties that was easy to integrate and maintain. To modernize legacy PSTN lines and meet scalability and reliability requirements, they engaged VoIP partner Voice Carrier and deployed Peplink technology, notably the Peplink Balance 210 and Peplink Unbreakable VoIP solution.

Using the Peplink Balance 210 for QoS and automatic failover (including simple 3G/4G USB modem backup) alongside Voice Carrier’s VoIP gateway, the deployment converted on-site PBXs to cloud VoIP with transparent network and voice failover. Peplink-enabled redundancy and traffic policing delivered clear calls, simplified management, and scalability—resulting in a 55% reduction in voice costs (about $155,520 saved annually across properties), improved guest and staff experience, and easier infrastructure upgrades.
