Sainsbury's, a major UK retailer, faced significant challenges in recruiting enough delivery drivers to meet the rapidly growing demand for its online grocery service. PeopleScout implemented an insight-driven solution that included detailed market mapping and the development of distinct driver personas with targeted messaging. Their strategy involved creating highly specific, location-based campaigns with tailored value propositions, such as promoting flexible shifts for students or childcare benefits in family-dense areas. This approach was extremely successful, filling the majority of roles within the first five weeks and generating over 2,000 applications. The campaign was so effective that Sainsbury's reduced its marketing spend and seven locations, including previously hard-to-fill areas, had to pause recruitment due to high applicant volume.
