Case Study: Running Start achieves 60% higher enrollment and streamlined virtual training with Pathways by PeopleGrove

With Pathways by PeopleGrove, a nonprofit helps young women hone their political prowess

Running Start, a Washington, D.C.–based nonprofit that trains young women to run for public office, faced the sudden need to convert its intensive week-long summer high school program to a virtual format because of the COVID-19 pandemic. To meet a fast-approaching deadline and keep students engaged, Running Start partnered with PeopleGrove and deployed Pathways by PeopleGrove to reimagine and deliver their programming online.

Using PeopleGrove’s Pathways, Running Start moved core sessions and its campaign simulation into a single virtual guide and central content hub, replacing scattered Google Drive/Dropbox files and making it easy for students to join the network and connect with alumni. The shift extended the program from one week to six weeks and allowed Running Start to accept 60% more participants for the 2020 session, while improving post-program engagement and access to resources.
