How University of Kansas scales career services to their 375,000 alumni

The University of Kansas Alumni Association faced a challenge when its members overwhelmingly identified career services as their most desired benefit. Their existing networking events were not sufficient to meet the demand, and the university's primary career center focused mainly on undergraduates. To address this need for its vast network of 375,000 alumni, the university partnered with PeopleGrove.

Using the PeopleGrove platform, the university launched KU Mentoring (later rebranded to KU Mentoring+) to facilitate both short-term networking and long-term, structured mentoring. The solution included specialized groups for different alumni affiliations and was heavily promoted across the university community. This initiative achieved significant results, quickly attracting 9,000 alumni and students to the platform and achieving a 31% connection rate, all while receiving a very high average user satisfaction rating of 4.69 out of 5. PeopleGrove provided the indispensable tool that allowed the university to scale its career services successfully.
