BT Group’s Internal Audit team — a 90-person group responsible for SOX and global controls across a complex international organisation — needed a modern, standards-aligned audit platform to replace paper-based processes and an internally built system. They wanted better planning, a central report library, consistent workflows across 12 audit teams, and a solution that would support SOX, quality assurance and a dispersed workforce.

BT migrated from Ideagen’s legacy PAWS to Pentana, a configurable, multi-client auditing platform built on modern technology. Pentana delivered richer usability, stronger planning and reporting (via Reporting Services), and a structured, risk-based audit process, improving file and workflow consistency, visibility and review. The move increased audit efficiency, provided stronger assurance to management and auditors, and freed the team to focus on MIS reporting, training and ongoing audit quality.
