Inter Airline Through Check In (IATCI) relies on legacy mainframe EDIFACT messaging, and errors caused by partner system changes were previously found only by time‑consuming manual searches of static weekly log files—delaying fixes and impacting passengers.
Lufthansa implemented Pentaho (Pentaho Data Integration and Pentaho Business Analytics) with an ESB and MySQL backend to enable real‑time operational monitoring and reporting. The platform delivers instant alerts and fast pattern detection, letting IT product management act immediately, minimize passenger disruption, notify partner airlines quickly, and scale analytics into a management cockpit for ongoing quality and decision support.
