Lithko Contracting, a national concrete specialty contractor, faced major productivity drains from manual time collection and coding: superintendents and office staff were rekeying 16–20k lines of timesheet data weekly across 16 locations, rounding hours, and losing planning time to administrative chores. With labor shortages and industry-wide low tech adoption hurting margins, Lithko partnered with Penta Technologies to find a digital solution that would streamline daily time capture and cost allocation.
Penta developed and piloted an integrated Labor Productivity Suite—tablet-mounted time clocks with QR hard-hat tags tied to Penta’s TEP software and Lithko’s ERP—at a hospital parking-structure job. The simple scan-to-clock workflow eliminated paper entry, cut superintendent admin by about 1 hour/day (scalable to ~150 superintendent hours/day), reduced back-office entry by ~50%, saved each worker ~5 minutes/day, and drove a projected 3–5% reduction in annual labor costs (potentially >$7M), plus significant soft productivity gains.
