Urban Utilities upgrades emergency storage with Pensar in 4 months

Urban Utilities faced the challenge of mitigating the risk of an overflow at a Brisbane dog park during wet weather events. They engaged vendor Pensar to design, construct, and install a new emergency storage tank beneath the existing park, a project complicated by a narrow site and the need to work around a live gravity main.

Pensar successfully designed and installed a 140KL emergency storage tank and associated infrastructure, including prefabricated concrete end chambers. Despite challenges like COVID-19 lockdowns and contaminated soil removal, Pensar completed the project on budget and on time. The solution reduced cost and risk for Urban Utilities and included a high-quality handover of the upgraded park space back to the city council.
