Toowoomba Regional Council completes Wetalla aeration upgrades 2 months early with Pensar

Toowoomba Regional Council faced operational challenges at its Wetalla Water Reclamation Facility due to a corroded aeration header and aging blowers, which were causing inefficiencies in the bioreactor. The council engaged vendor Pensar to install new positive displacement blowers and an above-ground header to resolve these issues and to similarly improve aeration for the facility's aerobic digesters.

Pensar implemented a carefully staged solution involving the design, supply, installation, and commissioning of new blower buildings and pipework. This approach ensured the plant remained fully operational during the changeover. The project was completed two months ahead of schedule with zero safety incidents and no process shutdowns exceeding four hours, demonstrating Pensar's effective planning and execution.
