SunWater completes Olive Downs offtake in 1 day with Pensar

The customer, SunWater, faced the challenge of constructing critical water supply infrastructure for a major new coal mine within a tight timeframe. Key challenges included working on a remote site and connecting a new offtake to an existing, aging pipeline without disrupting the water supply for more than four days. Pensar was contracted to deliver this complex project.

Pensar successfully designed and constructed the new offtake and pipeline infrastructure. Through detailed pre-planning and the use of pre-fabricated fittings, the critical connection to the existing water main was completed in just one day, two days ahead of the strict four-day schedule. Pensar also mitigated significant safety risks, such as step-touch potential, by installing an extensive grounding system, ensuring the project was delivered safely and efficiently.
