Seqwater improves WTP safety with Pensar's 2,000L caustic soda system

Seqwater engaged Pensar to address operator safety risks and improve reliability at the Kenilworth Water Treatment Plant by replacing an outdated soda ash loading system. The challenge was to install a new caustic soda dosing system on a constrained, sloping brownfield site that was built over an old, filled-in pond, all while the plant remained fully operational.

Pensar designed and installed a fully automated aqueous caustic soda dosing system, which included a new chemical tank, spill holding tank, and dual-contained pipework. The solution was integrated into the plant's existing control system. As a result, Pensar delivered a system that achieved its performance requirements immediately with zero integration errors, significantly improving both safety and the long-term durability of the water treatment plant.
