Seqwater, the Queensland water supplier, faced significant erosion and structural instability issues at its Canungra raw water pump station following flood events. The damage undermined critical infrastructure, including concrete stairs and handrails, posing a risk to the facility that serves as the sole water source for the area. Vendor Pensar was engaged to address these challenges while ensuring the water treatment plant remained fully operational.

Pensar implemented a solution that involved removing the damaged infrastructure and installing new steel stairs and handrailing, while also stabilizing the creek banks with gabion baskets. The vendor adapted its construction methodology to self-perform more work, which allowed the project to be completed two weeks ahead of schedule. Through effective controls and constant communication with the client, Pensar successfully maintained water quality, minimized environmental and safety risks, and ensured uninterrupted operator access throughout the project.
