Murray River Council upgrades 8 bridges in 1 month with Pensar

Murray River Council engaged Pensar to address concrete defects across eight bridges, which suffered from issues like spalling, cracking, and low concrete cover over reinforcement. The challenge involved finding appropriate repair methods for varying deterioration mechanisms and coordinating with agricultural contractors to ensure wide loads did not hinder the work schedule.

Pensar conducted a scientific evaluation of the defects to develop a tailored rehabilitation program. The solution included concrete spall and crack repairs, cleaning, and the application of protective coatings. Pensar successfully completed the work with minimal traffic disruption and even identified and completed further critical repairs within the original schedule. The project was recognized as a 2021 ACRA Award winner for its innovative approach.
