Harmony delivers 12 km of raw water infrastructure with Pensar

For a mining operation managed by Harmony, the challenge was to establish a reliable water supply system to support the construction of new infrastructure at the Eva Copper Mine in remote North West Queensland. The project required integrating existing infrastructure where possible and designing a complex network to pump groundwater over significant distances to both a construction village and work fronts. Pensar was engaged to deliver the solution.

Pensar addressed this by delivering the project in two phases: design followed by fabrication, installation, and commissioning. The solution involved auditing and incorporating existing assets, using hydraulic modeling to optimize the network, and implementing robust SCADA systems for control. Pensar successfully commissioned a network capable of delivering water over a combined 12 km, achieving significant cost savings through asset reuse and completing the project on budget and schedule while minimizing environmental impact.
