Department of Defence / Lendlease completes Growler AEAC hardstand 2 months early with Pensar

The Department of Defence, in partnership with Lendlease, faced significant challenges constructing a new aircraft hardstand at RAAF Base Amberley. The project involved major earthworks and a massive concrete pour while managing PFAS-contaminated material, strict security protocols, and the need to avoid disrupting ongoing military operations. They engaged construction vendor Pensar to deliver the complex facility.

Pensar implemented a highly collaborative and adaptive solution, working closely with material suppliers and undertaking concrete pours at night to combat high temperatures. This approach led to the project being completed substantially ahead of schedule, with Stage #1 finishing six weeks early and Stage #2 two months early. Pensar successfully ensured all work met stringent specifications and that all contaminated material was safely removed and disposed of in full compliance with regulations.
