A PelicanCorp Case Study
Greater New Haven Water Pollution Control Authority (GNHWPCA), a regional sewer authority serving New Haven, Hamden, East Haven, and Woodbridge, was spending heavy staff time on Call Before You Dig (CBYD) ticket screening, scheduling field visits, and deciding which tickets required response. The process was manual, resource-intensive, and sometimes led to unnecessary inspections, especially as it covered critical infrastructure and assets not always owned by GNHWPCA. PelicanCorp provided TicketAccess to automate this ticket screening and positive response process.
PelicanCorp’s TicketAccess compared CBYD ticket locations against GNHWPCA’s sewer network, categorized tickets by work type and asset risk, and automatically generated maps and contractor instructions. The result was a significant reduction in the time and manpower needed to review, respond to, and mark out tickets, with contractors receiving automated responses within minutes. PelicanCorp also helped ensure the process remained compliant with Connecticut State regulations and improved confidence in GNHWPCA’s asset protection program.
