A Pelco Case Study
Treasure Island Resort & Casino faced an aging analog surveillance infrastructure dating to its 1993 opening—hundreds of analog cameras, dedicated VCRs and a matrix switcher—that could not meet modern operational needs after a major property renovation. To provide a world‑class, easy‑to‑use digital video management solution, the property (with integrator SSI) selected Pelco and its VideoXpert VMS as the core operator interface and management tool.
Pelco deployed VideoXpert in parallel with existing Endura components, migrating users, permissions, camera names and mappings with no downtime and reusing Endura encoders to ease the transition. The solution added tag‑based searches, synchronized multi‑angle bookmarking and a browser‑style interface, producing faster investigations and higher operator efficiency (staff were up to speed in two to three days), a consolidated virtual matrix supporting up to 1,400 channels, and significant space and infrastructure savings from removing legacy VCR racks—delivering measurable usability and performance gains for Pelco and Treasure Island Resort & Casino.
