A Peerless-AV Case Study
Palais des congrès de Montréal, a 551,520 sq. ft. convention center, needed to replace outdated CRT signage with sleek, robust digital displays that met strict aesthetic, safety and seismic requirements while minimizing visible hardware and easing maintenance. The venue selected Peerless-AV and its Custom Products Division for advanced mounting technology, using custom ceiling-hung mounts and Peerless-AV’s DS-VW765-LAND video wall mounts to support the new Samsung UD55A displays.
Peerless-AV designed, manufactured and shipped custom parallelogram hanging mounts, multiple ceiling-mounted arrays and a 5x2 video wall—supporting 34 displays in total—delivered within weeks and installed in time for the October 2012 conference season (including the 18th WCIT with 2,500 delegates from 62 countries). Peerless-AV’s solutions met OSHPD seismic standards and incorporated wall plate spacers, micro-adjustment knobs and a patented pull-out/prop-open service mechanism for precise alignment and easy maintenance, resulting in venue-wide dynamic signage, improved sight lines and faster serviceability; the Palais plans to continue using Peerless-AV for future upgrades.
