A Peerless-AV Case Study
Columbus Zoo and Aquarium, a non-profit in Powell, Ohio that welcomes about 2.2 million guests annually and is open 363 days a year, needed to replace static wayfinding and reduce printed materials while preserving its natural habitats. Facing snow, ice, bright sun, humidity and even pressure washing, the zoo turned to Peerless-AV and its Xtreme™ Displays for a rugged, weatherproof digital signage solution with high outdoor clarity.
Peerless-AV rolled out a program of 39 Xtreme™ Displays (installation began May 2014, with over a quarter installed) at the front gate, event areas, guest services and regional entrances; the fully sealed, fan/filter-free design lowered maintenance needs and protected components from the elements. Using the zoo’s internal digital content network, staff now push dynamic event updates, weather warnings and ride information more easily, improving visitor communication, reducing printed materials and prompting plans to expand Peerless-AV digital signage across the property.
