Preview of the Intesa SanPaolo Case Study

Intesa Sanpaolo - Customer Case Study

Intesa Sanpaolo, one of the euro zone’s largest banking groups with about 90,000 employees and an international footprint, faced a growing challenge: multilingualism was creating inefficiencies and blocking effective global collaboration. The bank set a strategic goal to raise Business English proficiency across roles from mid-managers to VPs so staff could work and serve customers more effectively across 29 key countries.

Intesa Sanpaolo used Pearson English’s ONE Assessment to map needs for nearly 3,000 employees, then deployed the blended ONE platform (70:20:10 experiential model) plus ONE Coach—150 dedicated, role-matched coaches and integrated e-learning modules—to deliver personalized, on-the-job practice. The program was highly successful: 99% participation, 76% met or exceeded improvement targets in six months, 63% gained one proficiency level and 13% gained more than two, delivering better productivity, engagement, collaboration and customer satisfaction and paving the way for broader rollout.
