SmartPak, a premier provider of horse supply and equine supplements, faced challenges with inefficient layout, poor inventory tracking, and low storage density for their 19,000 SKUs. To address these issues, they partnered with vendor PeakLogix for an automation and equipment solution.

PeakLogix implemented a high-density, automated horizontal carousel storage and retrieval system to replace the static racking. This solution allowed SmartPak to reclaim 30,000 square feet of floor space, improve inventory tracking, and realize $1.2 million in annual savings. Most significantly, the upgrade from PeakLogix resulted in a more than 50% reduction in pick labor costs and increased average pick rates from 35 to 150 per hour.
