CVS Pharmacy worked with PeakLogix to solve a labeling challenge in its bulk facility after installing a new sorter. CVS needed a way to process cases of material as they moved through the operation, but its existing case labeling system could not print bar codes on case labels, which was essential for the sorter to function.

PeakLogix implemented a custom automated label software solution that received CVS pick data, let operators create WAVE plans, printed new pick labels, and communicated wave/lane information to the sorter PLC using high-speed barcode printers and scanner integration. The result was a bar-coded label system that helped CVS maximize sorter use, improve picking order efficiency, and enable operations staff to process orders more quickly and effectively.
