Coca-Cola worked with PeakLogix to solve a packaging challenge at its Sandston, VA facility. The company needed an automated system that could verify products were properly packaged while being easy to implement so bottling operations would not be disrupted. PeakLogix provided a PC-based barcode-scanning software solution for label and can verification.

PeakLogix designed a system that scanned UPC codes on labels and cans sequentially as rolls fed into the machine, using RS232 communication over standard CAT5 cables. The solution gave Coca-Cola better oversight of production-line efficiency, hard data on raw materials usage, and the ability to quickly pinpoint errors for immediate corrective action.
