The customer, a Fortune 500 energy company based in Houston, faced a workplace challenge. Their previous office lacked natural light and spaces that fostered company culture and spontaneous innovation, hindering talent acquisition and employee experience. To address this, they partnered with vendor PDR for a Design + Architecture service pilot project to discover an optimal layout and aesthetic for a future large-scale office.
PDR designed a 45,000-square-foot pilot space across two floors. The solution introduced perimeter walking paths and glass-lined central offices to flood the space with natural light. A central hub was created to welcome visitors and foster collaboration, while a variety of tested workspaces promoted employee choice and well-being. Through this project, PDR provided the customer with a functional and vibrant environment that directly supported their goals for agility, innovation, and empowerment.
