A PDMS Case Study

Preview of the Sealey Case Study

Sealey saves 3 hours a day on ENS entries with PDMS

Sealey, a leading brand of professional tools and workshop equipment, faced a significant increase in paperwork and administration following Brexit. They were required to manually input hundreds of goods lines daily into the UK Government's Trader Support Service (TSS) website for shipments to Northern Ireland, a process that was extremely time-consuming and prone to error. To address this challenge, Sealey approached vendor PDMS for a digital solution.

PDMS developed the bespoke TraderTap system, which automated the submission of declaration data to the TSS API. The solution parsed Sealey's data, handled complex consignment splitting, and streamlined the entire declaration process. The results were substantial time savings, freeing up the equivalent of four full-time staff. Two members of staff saved three hours daily on data entry, while managing supplementary declarations was reduced from a three-person task to just one hour per day for a single person.
