SSL, a provider of commercial satellites, faced the challenge of automating the conversion of a large volume of technical drawings and MS Office documents into PDFs. Their goals were to increase efficiency, improve accuracy, and remove manual effort from their Siemens PLM Teamcenter solution. After evaluating several options, they selected vendor Pdftools for its robust and accurate PDF generation tools, which offered a high performance-to-price ratio.

The solution from Pdftools involved integrating its PDF Batch Stamp Tool, 3-Heights Image to PDF Converter, and 3-Heights PDF Extract into the PLM workflow. This created a fully automated back-office batch process. The implementation by Pdftools was highly successful, enabling SSL to process and manage over 25,000 documents, generating approximately 1,200,000 pages, which streamlined operations and eliminated manual intervention.
