Suva, a Swiss national accident insurance fund, needed a central solution to convert over 90,000 documents daily from various PDF standards into the PDF/A-2u format for reliable long-term archiving. They required a scalable and high-performance system with transparent error handling to manage their vast document workflow.

Pdftools implemented its 4-Heights Conversion Service as a central microservice, which seamlessly integrated into Suva's OpenShift environment. The solution successfully processes over 200,000 pages daily for conversion, with an additional 300,000 pages processed with OCR on some days, fully meeting the customer's archiving and performance requirements.
