Filling Out & Sending Thousands of Certificates of Excellence Automatically

Crisis Text Line, a national 24/7 text-based crisis support nonprofit with a fast-growing network of volunteers, needed a simple, flexible way to automate creation of two certificate types (training graduation and one-year service) without building a system from scratch. They chose PDFfiller’s API to integrate with their volunteer database and streamline certificate generation and delivery.

Using PDFfiller, Crisis Text Line created signed, fillable templates and set up triggers that send volunteer data to the API; PDFfiller returns hosted PDF links that are automatically emailed to recipients. The PDFfiller integration now produces roughly 300–500 certificates per month, runs end-to-end automatically, and positions Crisis Text Line to scale to about three times its current volunteer capacity while saving time and development effort.
