Ellis Steel Group Ltd is a long-established, privately owned steel stockholder and processor made up of seven trading companies with depots across the UK. Managing diverse product ranges and services—plus stock, transport, procurement and accounting—created the need for a modern, flexible IT solution that balanced centralised efficiencies with local operational independence.

In 2007 the group implemented PCI’s prof.IT applications, hosted on Swansea-based servers with ADSL connections into fibre to improve speed and resilience. The industry-specific system and add-on modules (trade counter, certified traceability, etc.) have been updated over time, helping Ellis Steel streamline operations, support growth across its companies and maintain a long-term partnership with PCI.
