Mapfre Asistencia - Customer Case Study

Mapfre Asistencia, a multinational insurance and assistance company, faced a PCI compliance challenge. Their subsidiary, InsureandGo, needed to move from a "pause and resume" payment system to a solution that took all sensitive payment information completely off its infrastructure to achieve SAQ A compliance. To solve this, they worked with vendor PCI Pal and implemented its Agent Assist product.

The solution from PCI Pal integrated with the existing telephony system, allowing customers to input payment details via their phone keypad without the information ever being audible or entering Mapfre's infrastructure. This successfully reduced their PCI DSS scope, simplified their IT network, and ensured a secure customer journey. A major unforeseen benefit was the ability for agents to handle payments securely while working remotely during the COVID-19 pandemic. The implementation was praised as a success, leading to plans for a global rollout of the PCI Pal solution.
