Nobel Biocare, a global leader in dental implants and restorative solutions with subsidiaries in 34 markets, faced a growing knowledge-management problem as rapid product innovation, CAD/CAM systems and software increased support complexity. Post-sales technical teams relied on email and shared drives and could not efficiently gather, validate and distribute best practices, how‑tos and troubleshooting across dispersed, specialist teams.
They implemented PBworks as the Knowledge Database Wiki (KDB WIKI), piloting in North America and then scaling it globally while PBworks added enterprise features like folders, page‑level security, groups and document preview. The centralized wiki consolidated institutional knowledge, enabled continuous training, sped up and improved global technical support (350+ users) and has become an “invisible,” routine part of how the organization works.
