FriendShip, a 26-store convenience and fuel retailer in Northern Ohio and beyond, wanted to grow its loyalty program and better promote its new FriendShip Kitchen concept stores. Its previous provider used a one-size-fits-all cents-off-per-gallon approach, but limited customer data and an inability to send targeted emails made it hard to drive in-store food purchases. FriendShip partnered with Paytronix Systems to launch a more data-rich loyalty program.
Paytronix Systems helped FriendShip roll out a strategic membership program with a 25-cents-off fuel welcome offer, employee enrollment contests, and multiple sign-up options in-store and online. The result was a 28.5% loyalty penetration rate in under three months, nearly doubling the 15% goal. Targeted pump-to-store promotions increased in-store visits by 5% and gallons purchased by 18%, while registered members drove 66% of loyalty transactions.
