Garbanzo Mediterranean Fresh, a 20-unit quick-casual restaurant concept based in Denver, wanted to turn its loyalty program into a stronger driver of repeat visits and sales. The company faced a common fast-casual challenge: too many first-time guests don’t come back, so the team needed a more targeted way to engage customers and improve retention. Garbanzo used Paytronix Systems and its V.I.B. Rewards Program to better understand customer behavior and act on it.
With Paytronix Systems, Garbanzo built seven RFM-based customer segments and used message mapping to send tailored promotions by audience, such as Meatless Monday offers for vegetarians and escalating incentives for lapsed guests. The team also created campaign flows that adjusted rewards over time, helping motivate visits without over-discounting. The result was stronger engagement from loyalty members and support for growth, including a 6.5% increase in same-store sales in 2017 and more than 100,000 V.I.B. members contributing to the brand’s marketing success.
