Poshmark, founded in 2011, is a mobile-first social commerce marketplace for buying and selling clothing, shoes and accessories. Facing a young, mobile-savvy audience, the company needed secure, relevant payment options that preserved the simplicity of its checkout to maximize conversions.

In mid‑2016 Poshmark added Venmo as one of four primary payment methods via Braintree, leveraging Venmo’s social sharing to attract new users. Venmo’s share of checkout volume rose from 1% to 5% within a year and has continued growing, boosting brand visibility as users promote purchases on social feeds; Poshmark is expanding its Braintree partnership to drive further online sales in 2018.
