Paylocity Puts the Convenience Back in HR and Payroll for Weigel’s Stores

Weigel’s, a fourth-generation, family-owned convenience retailer with 68 locations and more than 1,000 employees, needed to modernize antiquated HR and payroll processes to better recruit and retain staff. Facing manual payroll checks, weekend tax processing, and slow hiring workflows, Weigel’s chose Paylocity and its HR and payroll platform—including Employee Self-Service, Community, learning management, recruiting and reporting tools—to bring convenience and speed to their people operations.

Paylocity implemented mobile self-service, text-driven recruiting, Community for internal communication, an LMS and enhanced dashboards. The result: faster hiring and real-time employee access to pay stubs and PTO, direct deposit now available, streamlined reporting (reporting time cut in half), fewer HR inquiries and regained weekend time for payroll staff—demonstrating measurable efficiency gains and stronger employee engagement across Weigel’s locations.
