Manufacturer Transforms HR into a Strategic Function with Paylocity

Wagstaff, a 400-employee manufacturer with sites in Washington and Kentucky, faced highly manual and fragmented HR processes—about 15 systems, heavy spreadsheet use, slow recruiting and paper onboarding, and nearly two FTEs devoted to payroll. After an unsuccessful Oracle implementation, Wagstaff chose Paylocity’s cloud HCM platform (Recruiting, Onboarding, Time & Attendance, Payroll/Compensation, Performance and Mobile App) to modernize and automate HR so the team could become a strategic partner.

Paylocity implemented integrated recruiting and paperless onboarding, mobile time & attendance, automated payroll/compensation and performance tools, allowing Wagstaff to retire roughly 10 legacy systems and reduce IT support. The changes cut total HR workload by about 50%, reduced payroll effort by ~87.5% (from nearly two FTEs to 25% of one), saved new hires about 8 hours on day one, eliminated missed punches, and freed HR and finance to focus on higher-value work.
