Auto Group Steers into the Future of HR and Payroll

Baxter, a family‑owned auto dealer group with more than 2,000 employees across 20 dealerships and three body shops, faced mounting HR and payroll complexity, poor communication with many non‑desk workers, and limited reporting from their legacy provider. In 2018 they partnered with Paylocity and adopted Paylocity’s suite—including onboarding, payroll, HR, recruiting, LMS, workforce management, Community, and Data Insights—to modernize their employee experience.

Paylocity deployed its mobile app, Onboarding, Community, LMS and Data Insights to automate recruiting-to-onboarding paperwork, personalize branded onboarding by dealership, centralize internal communication, and enable store‑ and employee‑level reporting. As a result Paylocity helped Baxter connect employees across locations, measure message reach and gather feedback, reduce manual data entry, smooth first‑day experiences, track training, and run turnover and diversity reports to support faster, more strategic decisions.
