Halsted Place Apartments, a 280-unit multifamily property in Chicago, partnered with PayLease to process resident payments and improve a check-heavy rent collection process. Although e-payments were growing, about half of residents still paid by paper check, and the property needed a faster way to convert those payments electronically without relying on a bank solution that lacked property-management features.

PayLease implemented its check scanning service, which worked with Halsted Place’s existing scanners and integrated with Yardi Voyager. The solution eliminated manual steps, created batch deposits automatically, and matched payments to the correct units, saving time during rent week. As a result, Halsted Place reached an average e-payment rate of 145% per month, reflecting the scan of all office checks including leasing and application fees.
