Champion Property Management, which manages nearly 2,700 multifamily units across 11 locations in central Ohio, wanted to reduce the volume of paper checks and the time its property managers spent manually processing rent and chasing delinquent residents. As a long-time PayLease client, the company needed a way to make electronic payments more appealing to residents while improving collections efficiency.

PayLease helped Champion implement an incurred e-payments program that covered credit card and ACH processing fees so residents could pay electronically at no cost. The result was about 77% of residents paying online, with faster funding, better on-time collections, and far less time spent on payment administration. Champion also expanded recurring payments and shifted staff focus toward leasing and retention, with PayLease automatically notifying the team when payments failed.
