Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks launches digital turkey game checks with PayIt in time for opening weekend

The Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks faced the challenge of implementing a new turkey hunting regulation on a very tight timeline. The law required a new turkey permit stamp and a mandatory digital game check system to be operational before the season began. MDWFP turned to its vendor, PayIt, to build this new functionality on the existing PayIt Outdoors platform.

PayIt configured two new products: the turkey stamp permit and an offline-capable digital game check workflow within the mobile app. The solution was launched successfully for the hunting season, resulting in 90% of game checks being completed digitally. This provided MDWFP with faster, more accurate data. Furthermore, the program generated over $180,500 from stamp proceeds, funds which are directed toward wild turkey habitat enhancement and conservation efforts in the state.
