Case Study: Sony Innovation Studios achieves unmatched virtual production performance with Pavilion Data Systems

A Pavilion Data Systems Case Study

Preview of the Sony Innovation Studios Case Study

Sony Innovation Studios Creates Reality out of the Virtual World

Sony Innovation Studios turned to Pavilion Data Systems as it expanded into virtual production, volumetric capture, and AI/GPU-enabled editing and rendering. The studio needed a storage platform that could handle massive 3D/4K/8K content workflows with extremely high performance and density in a practical footprint, while avoiding the cost and limitations of legacy Fibre Channel SAN and traditional NAS systems.

Pavilion Data Systems implemented the Pavilion HyperParallel Data Platform with HyperOS 3.0, giving Sony Innovation Studios a modern NVMe/NVMe-oF architecture for block, file, and object storage in a 4U system. The solution delivered up to 122 GB/s read, 90 GB/s write, and 120 million IOPS per array, helping Sony accelerate volumetric capture and rendering, improve time to content release, and create an environment that supports attracting and retaining top creative talent.
