The customer, a leading cloud-based customer support platforms provider, needed to modernize a massive Hadoop and Spark analytics environment built on proprietary 120-node servers with DAS SSDs. As data volumes grew, their SSDs became a bottleneck, export traffic threatened to double storage costs, and an upcoming EOL notice created urgency for a future-proof architecture. Pavilion Data Systems addressed these challenges with its HyperParallel Data Platform and Pavilion HyperParallel Flash Array.

Pavilion Data Systems disaggregated storage from the cluster, replaced the proprietary servers with commodity 1U systems, and deployed two HyperParallel Flash Arrays with more than 1.4PB of NVMe capacity. The new architecture delivered data ingest 2X faster than DAS SSDs, enabled 120GB/s export without impacting analytics, and reduced storage TCO by 2-3X. Pavilion also cut cluster size by 2X, improved deployment speed by 12X, and reduced storage management overhead by 3X while supporting snapshots, thin provisioning, and high availability.
