Kx Systems, a provider of high-performance kdb+ analytics for financial markets, needed to manage massive, fast-growing time-series data while keeping latency extremely low and storage costs under control. Its traditional server-side DAS approach led to overprovisioning, duplicated storage across nodes, and rising infrastructure expense as the environment scaled.

Pavilion Data Systems addressed this with its Hyperparallel Flash Array (HFA), a shared NVMe-oF storage platform designed for kdb+. The solution delivered ultra-low latency and high throughput, helped accelerate kdb+ searches by up to 13X, improved rack density 2X, and reduced storage TCO by 50%; independent STAC testing also showed Pavilion’s HFA outperforming many DAS and AFA alternatives in multiple benchmarks.
