Intel - Customer Case Study

Intel needed a way to support rack-scale design for modern applications that demand greater flexibility, scalability, and cost efficiency than traditional hyper-converged infrastructure can provide. The challenge was to disaggregate storage from compute while still keeping management simple, provisioning on-demand, and maintaining strong performance in a composable environment.

Pavilion Data Systems provided its NVMe-oF storage array for Intel’s RSD architecture, using standards-based Redfish and Swordfish APIs to integrate with Intel® Pod Manager and other rack-management tools. The solution delivered disaggregated, rack-scale storage with up to 90 GB/s in a 4U appliance, up to 20 million 4K read IOPS, low-latency performance, and flexible scaling across capacity and performance needs, helping Intel standardize infrastructure and streamline deployment.
