Case Study: Holley achieves high-performance, simplified storage management with Pavilion Data Systems

A Pavilion Data Systems Case Study

Preview of the Holley Case Study

Holley Performance Products reduces costs, simplifies management, and accelerates performance with the Pavilion HyperParallel Data Platform™

Holley Performance Products, a leading manufacturer of high-performance automotive products, needed storage that could match its speed requirements without sacrificing manageability or affordability. After struggling with HP and Dell arrays and then moving to PCIe flash cards for performance, Holley lost the benefits of shared storage and easy VM migration in its VMware-based environment. Pavilion Data Systems offered the Pavilion HyperParallel Data Platform, including the HyperParallel Flash Array and Pavilion HyperOS, to address these challenges.

With Pavilion Data Systems, Holley gained DAS-like performance with SAN flexibility, running block, file, and object workloads on a single array. The solution delivered up to 120GB/s throughput, 20M IOPs, and as little as 25µs latency, while simplifying management through a web-based interface and improving support and availability with a secondary DR site. Holley now runs all major applications on Pavilion, including Exchange, databases, ERP, file shares, and timekeeping systems, and regained the ability to migrate VMs easily.
