ZiphyCare, a NYC-based healthcare technology startup that sends specially trained onsite care coordinators (OCCs with virtual doctors) to patients’ homes, needed a way to deliver PHI and COVID-19 triage information securely while protecting staff and keeping patients informed. To meet these HIPAA and pandemic-driven requirements, ZiphyCare adopted Paubox’s Email API (and Paubox Email Suite/G Suite integration) to send encrypted clinical communications and symptom-checker guidance.

Paubox’s Email API enables ZiphyCare to deliver encrypted discharge notes and HIPAA-compliant messages directly from its app and staff email accounts, supporting remote triage that can prevent OCC dispatches for suspected COVID-19 cases. The results: in the past month ZiphyCare sent 46 emails with a 48% open rate, and in the past 12 months Paubox encrypted 6,792 of their emails—helping reduce ER visits, protect OCCs, and maintain clear patient communication.
