Partnering With PCNs to Establish Covid ‘hot Clinics’ at South Liverpool Treatment Centre (SLTC)

South Liverpool Treatment Centre (SLTC) partnered with Patchwork Health to tackle urgent staffing challenges for its joint COVID-19 “hot clinic” serving symptomatic patients across 24 partner practices. With hundreds of GPs, fluctuating demand, and the unpredictability of staff self-isolating, the centre’s Excel-based scheduling process was too slow and inefficient for the pace of the pandemic.

Patchwork Health provided its digital staffing solution to give the PCNs a centralised way to manage shifts, allowing GPs to self-book vacant sessions and managers to gain better visibility of workforce data. The impact was strong: 80% of shifts were filled within 7 days, average bank fill rate reached 85%, and staffing increased by 60% within 2 months, while also reducing admin burden and improving planning.
